Assistance to
Local Unions

General
Assistance to Local Unions
Section 1. No Local Union shall receive financial assistance from the
International Brotherhood of Teamsters unless the Secretary-Treasurer of said
Local Union has been bonded in accordance with the provisions of this
Constitution.
Assistance
from Sister Local Unions
Section 2. All Local Unions affiliated with the International Brotherhood of
Teamsters, soliciting financial aid or other monetary consideration from sister
Local Unions, must first receive official approval and endorsement from the
General President.
Public
Employee Assistance Fund
Section 3. The General Executive Board may, in its discretion, within the
limits of the law, assist Local Unions representing public employees in their
relationship with their public employers, which assistance may include lawful
financial support for organizing activities and the collective bargaining and
disputes settlement processes. To accomplish this purpose, a fund shall be
established which shall be known as the Public Employee Assistance Fund. The
Executive Officers, with the approval of the General Executive Board, shall
allocate moneys for such Fund and shall determine the basis for disbursement.
